Education

Take away the ceiling and walls of a theatre, and the traditionally perceived barriers seem to melt away too; the relationship between actors and audience is more direct and this creates the ideal environment for a group of young people to enjoy high quality drama.

Details of our education pricing and programme for the 2012 season will be available soon. For all education enquiries and for school bookings contact: 0845 673 2151, or email education@openairtheatre.com

Some FAQs

Do I need to tell parents that the theatre is outdoors?

You should ensure that children are prepared for all weather conditions, including waterproof clothing and sun hats.

Is the theatre accessible by coach?

Yes. Please ask about free permits when you make your booking.

Is funding available?

If your state primary school is within a London borough you can apply for funding to cover your transport costs (including coaches) and match-funding for ticket prices from John Lyon's Charity (Access To The Arts Fund).

Do you have a risk assessment we can use?

Whilst we don't have a standard risk assessment to send out, we can help answer all your questions and even arrange a site visit if required. We have Fire, Show and Building Risk Assessments as required by health and safety regulations which are available at the theatre for the relevant enforcement bodies to inspect. There will be first aiders on site during your visit.

Got a question you can't find the answer to? Get in touch and we'll get back to you as soon as we can.
