Shakespeare for children comes to the Open Air Theatre.
Over the past few years we have had great success with our productions of classic children’s books, but this year we are using our 75 years of experience in producing Shakespeare to create a show for children. The Open Air Theatre has become synonymous with A Midsummer Night’s Dream and so it is the perfect choice for us to adapt for our young audiences. Director Dominic Leclerc will transform this classic play by creating a visually-striking, fast-paced 80-minute production using Shakespeare’s original language and text, suitable for everyone aged 6 and over. It will open with a lively interactive prologue before the narrative is played out. Kids will love the abundance of movement, comedy and interaction in this new interpretation. If your children have never seen a Shakespeare production before then this is the perfect place to start.
