Open Air Theatre | Weather Policy & Exchange Form

This policy forms part of our terms and conditions.

The auditorium and stage are completely uncovered and on average 94% of performances are completed each year. We will make every effort to complete the performance and reserve the right to stop and start the action as necessary.

Performances are never cancelled or abandoned before the advertised starting time and then only in the event of very bad weather. If cancellation or abandonment is unavoidable, ticket holders will be entitled to equivalent seats for any other performance in the main repertoire (excludes Sunday performances), subject to availability.

Sunday performances (which are one-off events and not part of the main repertoire) take place regardless of weather conditions.

Refunds are not given for cancellation or abandonment as a result of the weather.

If you have tickets to a performance which is cancelled/abandoned:

Regardless of where you purchased your tickets, you should do the following:

1. Retain your ticket stubs. There is no time limit to exchange your tickets. Tickets are also valid for exchange in future seasons.

2. Fill in our online Weather Exchange form. Or call the Box Office on 0845 450 5370 with your alternative dates.

3. You can fill in the Weather Exchange form at any time but if you call please ensure you call during our opening hours. These are 10am until 8pm Monday to Saturday.

4. Our Box Office will reserve tickets for your chosen alternative performance. They will then ask you to post your ticket stubs from the cancelled/abandoned performance to:

5. On receipt of these ticket stubs, the Open Air Theatre Box Office will post your new tickets to you.

6. Alternatively, you can take your ticket stubs to the Box Office in person or send them to the above address with your preferred exchange date.

7. Please note that all exchanges are subject to availability but that exchanges are also valid for performances in the main repertoire in future seasons as details are announced.
